ICYMI: NASS Elections 101 Virtual Press Brief

Washington, D.C. – On Monday, Oct. 21, the National Association of Secretaries of State (NASS) held a bipartisan Elections 101 Virtual Press Brief. It featured the following six NASS members who serve as their state’s Chief Election Official: 

-Hon. Steve Simon, NASS President and Minnesota Secretary of State
-Hon. Michael Watson, NASS President-elect and Mississippi Secretary of State
-Hon. Gregg Amore, NASS Elections Committee Co-Chair and Rhode Island Secretary of State
-Hon. Michael Adams, NASS Elections Committee Co-Chair and Kentucky Secretary of State
-Hon. Maggie Toulouse Oliver, NASS Western Region Vice President and New Mexico Secre­tary of State
-Hon. Deidre Henderson, Utah Lt. Governor

The officials briefed the press on the decentralized nature of elections, election security, post-election procedures, as well as other important topics reporters should be aware of when cover­ing the upcoming general election.
