NASS Membership Updates

For Immediate Release — March 17, 2021 — Washington, D.C. — The National Association of Secretaries of State (NASS) has several membership updates to announce.

“The bipartisan work of NASS is made possible by dedicated members," said NASS Presi­dent Maggie Toulouse Oliver, New Mexico Secretary of State. "I’d like to thank the Secre­taries who have stepped up to serve in these roles and look forward to working closely with them in each of their new capacities.”


The membership updates are as follows:

Nevada Secretary of State Barbara Cegavske has been installed as the Notary Public Ad­ministrators (NPA) Liaison, an at large position on the
NASS Executive Board. Cegavske replaces Indiana Secretary of State Connie Lawson who has retired from office.

Maine Secretary of State Shenna Bellows has been installed as the
NASS State Heritage Committee Co-Chair. Bellows steps into the Co-Chair spot previously held by Alex Padilla, current U.S. Senator and former California Secretary of State.

Rhode Island Secretary of State Nellie Gorbea will now be a NASS Volunteer representa­tive for 2020-2021 on the Election Infrastructure Subsector Government Coordinating Council (EIS-GCC).

Delaware Secretary of State Jeff Bullock has been installed as the
NASS Business Ser­vices Committee Co-Chair.

The EIS-GCC Volunteer representative and Business Services Committee Co-Chair posi­tions were previously held by Pennsylvania Secretary of State Kathy Boockvar, who stepped down in February 2021.

NASS has also named New Mexico Secretary of State Maggie Toulouse Oliver and Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate to the Council of State Governments (CSG) Executive Com­mittee for 2021-2023.
